Timeless Living
The goal for this downtown “apartment” was to design a timeless, more transitional space with a twist of New Orleans party in the mix – ensuring family could stay for fun celebrations like Mardi Gras and Thanksgiving when not at their rustic, family farm. Considering every square foot of the space was precious, the kitchen design posed challenges as it needed to take up a concise footprint while the aesthetics needed to establish our old-world feel with a new-aged look. Details that helped deliver – a shaped hood enclosure with brick backsplash, fun open bistro shelving flanking a gorgeous black and brass, riveted hood surround, and beautiful mercury glass pendants that offer light and texture!
Materials Make the Space
With a nod to the story of this space being an old bank, we captured a rich feeling in the materials for both bathrooms and the gorgeous powder – copper pedestal sink and metallic grasscloth and all! Balancing the scale of spaces with very grand aesthetic, savvy use of materials to create a statement entry and bar for hosting really ensured a feeling of “you have arrived!” when people walk in the front door.
